In the name of Almighty
Allah who is the most merciful, the most beneficient.
Mr
President!
My
friend has very beautifully expressed her views in favour of the motion, “
Skill is the ladder of success” which I find no way true. I don’t agree that
human skills can make difference in life to a great extent as Napoleon
Bonaparte once said, “Ability is nothing
without opportunity” .
Mr president!
To me, this is not the skill of human
faculty but the fate which leads you towards success. Fate works like magic and
put down all human efforts to ashes without caring how much erudite and
connoisseur you are. This is fate and luck that has a “ a power thought to control
all events in general” and it destroys “ a person’s destiny” in particular.
This shows that fate has an over whelming power over mind.
Although it is
generally celebrated truth that behind every successful person the element of
hard work and skill exists. Yet we can not ignore the factor of luck in one’s
life. Says Shakespear,”A man is puppet
in the hands of fate” so do I agree, “ that this all chance and fate that
favours you.
Einstein once remarked, Success
is one percent inspiration and ninety percent perspiration” This mantra is
often repeated and has been the motto of many desiring such success. Yet in
today’s world, there have been an increasing number of examples of people who
have succeeded without much effort. Judging from evidence present in the world,
skill has never been able to guarantee success, but hard work could be needed
to ensure success is possible.
Dear sir! The definition of success is
different for everyone, whether it’s personal or professional , we are always
looking at improving in some area of our life. But if we have a bird’s eye view
of our surroundings it becomes crystal clear that skill counts but it does not
ensure a good and successful life. If skill had been that ladder to success
then thousands of skilled men and artisans would not have been suffering from abject poverty and worse
exploitation. Number of them make hardly make both ends meet. Their skill
doesn’t do any good to them. To some, being able to go home to a happy and
appreciative family is considered a successful life. If a person is content
with what one’s efforts bring him , then perhaps skill can be considered as a
ladder to success.
Mr
President!
Luck is more important because the people do not control everything in
their life. Sometimes in addition to personal efforts , the things that are out
of your control must play out right for you to succeed. For example….. say , you are the most driven
individual on the planet. You have done
everything to fulfill your dream of becoming the president of the United
States. You got the right education, you met the right people, you raised
enough money , you ran a perfect campaign, you won! But before you could be inaugurated a meteorite fell out
of the sky and crushed you. That was completely out of your control. You did
all you could do skillfully , but just did not have some luck to enjoy that
position. Thai is why luck is important . You can not dodge all of the life’s
meteorite.
At the end ,
I rightly suggest that Shakespearean words are true to life that a man is
puppet in the hands of fate and skill does not always lead to exceptional
returns. Thanks
